Cable Jointing: Relicon i-jointRELICON cable jointing is suitable for universal application as branch or straight through joints in low-voltage electrical installations. They are the product of choice of energy supply companies, industry and the electrical trade for permanently connecting cables buried in the ground.

 

Cable jointing is an indispensable tool for electrical engineers, and high expectations are placed on it. A cable joint is intended to protect cables against moisture ingress, dust and penetration by foreign objects.

 

RELICON cable jointing is longitudinally and laterally waterproof. The cable joints are available in various sizes as straight through i-Line joints and also as Y-Line and T-Line branch joints or PA parallel branch joints. They can be used underground, under water or in installation ducts for indoor or outdoor applications, for example for connecting buildings to the mains supply.

 

RELICON cable jointing is equally resistant to all environmental influences and are environmentally friendly. HellermanTyton also offers Polyurethane and Epoxy-based Resins  (e.g. PUR 33 cast resin and Expoxy Resin EP 64) in its product range.

The RELICON Reliflex cast resin is a non-toxic cold casting compound based on hydrocarbon resins for the low-voltage range. The very hydrophobic resin has been created for electrical insulation and moisture protection of cable connections. After curing Reliflex is extremely resistant to moisture and has excellent insulating properties.
Application: For indoor and outdoor use.

The RELICON PUR DS cast resin is a chemical thixotropic, universal 2-component polyurethane sealing mastic. The sealing mastic is ideal for sealing wall feed-throughs as well as other filling and sealing applications.

Processing of cast resin with our SF-Technology: high-quality, safe and reliable:


Safe filling systemThanks to our optimised Safe Filling system (SF), the installer is protected from coming into contact with the cast resin whilst the cast resin is mixed and the joint sleeve is filled. This means that working with RELICON cable connection joints is always a safe, clean and efficient process.


The transparent cast resin bag is connected to the moulding sleeve by means of a filler pipe and an adapter so that the cast resin mixture can be poured easily. The excellent flow properties of our cast resins make filling simple and the transparent material used for the cable jointing sleeve shells guarantees optimum visual monitoring of the filling process at all times.


A ring in each cast resin bag makes it easy to position and connection the special SF filler pipe. After the filler pipe is securely attached to the mixture bag with an adapter ring, the filler pipe can be inserted firmly into the opening of the upper joint shell.

The cast resin bag and the joint sleeve are perfectly connected so that none of the mixture is spilt whilst pouring.
